The Hudson Symphony Orchestra was established as the "Symphony-in-Residence" at Saint Peter's College this morning, October 7, at 10:00 a.m when President of Saint Peter's College Eugene J. Cornacchia and Dr. YiLi Lin, the symphony's Conductor, signed a formal agreement. The partnership between Saint Peter's and The Hudson Symphony provides concert and performance opportunities for the College community as well as the community-at-large, and creates a center for cultural programming, information and activities.

As the Symphony-in-Residence at Saint Peter's, The Hudson Symphony Orchestra provides two annual concerts at the College, one per semester. Saint Peter's students have the opportunity to perform in the orchestra under Conductor Dr. YiLi Lin's direction, and earn credits as part of a degree program. Pre-concert lectures given by Saint Peter's faculty members correspond with the current academic curriculum.

Additionally, select Saint Peter's College students are able to attain internships in marketing, fundraising, or other areas within orchestra operations. The partnership also fosters outreach to surrounding high schools in order to promote music education.

The inaugural concert will take place on October 25th at 7:00p.m. in The Roy Irving Theatre on the campus. Dr. Lin will conduct works by Copland and Barber, as well as a new work composed by Kevin Cummines, who is the Artistic Director for the Roy Irving Theatre and the Director of the Aidan C. McMullen Chorale.

Admission to each performance is free for all Saint Peter's students and staff. A fee of $20.00 will be charged for the general public and $10.00 for seniors and children.
